Now Showing Puppet Show, Green Day



The much-hyped Live Freaky, Die Freaky will hit stores next week. The puppet show features the voices of Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong and Rancid’s Tim Armstrong as its lead voices. The film centers around a character who, in the distant future, discovers the Charles Manson biography Helter Skelter and, for reasons still unexplained, decides to interpret it as scripture.

There is an unauthorized documentary of sorts about Green Day. Here's a bit of one review:

A 'Fan' Makes A Video Indicting Green Day As Sell Outs

Stick with this video til it ends, the credits are used to ask the band a bunch of 'how could you ?' type questions. Not to be a nit-picker, but why didn't he use question marks?

I think the simple answer to his questions is that the band decided that they wanted a mass audience and that the only way to get that was to appeal to a mass audience.
If you want them to be DOA and they aren't cooperating, then listen to DOA. Oh wait, they retired because people stopped listening to them.

American Idiot Tour Is Over, Green Day Mentally Preparing For Next Record

Greedy, lazy songwriters throw together a bunch of songs about touring, missing people etc. while they are touring. That way they can phone in the next album and make some money while they are on a crest of popularity.

That's not the game plan for Green Day. Billie Joe Armstrong says they will 'start with silence' in order to find the inspiration for the next album. That's also a good way to recover from all the non-permanent hearing loss.
